(November 2017) … A vehicle caught on fire last night near Faithful Steward Drive (Savages Ditch) on surf fishing access in Delaware Seashore State Park. In the video below you can see it was fully involved by the time Dave Eastburn saw it on his way to do a little night fishing.
Apparently the vehicle overheated when it was being driven along the beach. No one was hurt, well except the vehicle, and a few folks pride. By this morning DNREC and the parks will have the vehicle removed from the beach. Another good reason to air down, don’t over work your engine and transmission. This was an Isuzu that caught on fire. A few years ago a Jeep caught on fire at Cape Henlopen and a Ford Explorer at Fenwick island. All had the same issue, over worked transmissions from not airing down.
