The Point … An Early Look At Her

Check out these pictures, she is looking good!  We all miss the point every summer (in more ways than one), we wish we could fish her and sit bay or oceanside. Everyone has their favorite spot and view.  We are 17 days away from the point opening back up for the year and I know everyone is just dying to get out there and surf fish.   That’s right, in just 17 days the summer season is officially over and second summer starts.

Ron MacArthur, a very talented local photographer, took a ride yesterday and shot some killer photographs of the point.  You can see all of the cuts and sandbars bayside to oceanside.  She is looking good and we will be cleaning her up on September 4th.  If anyone would like to join us for that Tuesday beach clean up we will meet at 9 AM at the small bathhouse parking lot at Point Comfort Station Crossing.  The point’s profile is about the same as last year, but the bayside looks a little more filled in with sand.  You can see the rip off of the “the point” in the above photo.

This summer has flown by and as much as it pains most people to hear it, I look forward to this time of year.  The water is still very warm, but the air starts to cool off. We got a nice reminder of that yesterday morning with less humidity in the early morning.  Looking forward to some over night trips to the point this September.

Fish On!
