Assateague Island Reduced The Speed Limit

Assateague Island State park has new speed limits.  Maryland state route 611’s approach to the Verrazano Bridge has been lowered to 30 mph from 40 mph.  Along the causeway has been lowered to 25 mph.

Recently there have been a some incidents with cars and the ponies.  There are always incidences with people who want to drive slow to enjoy the view and those who do not and pass them.  There is also the issue of people pulling over or stopping to take photos.

These a good reasons to slow people down.  Honestly as beautiful as that place is I am surprised anyone would want to speed through there in the first place.
