Tomorrow A Chinese Space Station Will Crash And It Is Going To Snow … In April
I keep forgetting about the Tiangong-1 space station. This is not an April Fools’ joke which we have been having some fun with today. Yes, it is possible it will snow tomorrow, but mostly up north. I was hoping for clear skies to watch this station crash into the atmosphere and burn up.. It will be a crap shot to be where the Tiangong-1, the Chinese space station, will streak across the sky and burn up on reentry. It is possible some parts
will not fully burn up and hit the planet.
Aerospace website … “Tiangong-1 is currently predicted to reenter the Earth’s atmosphere around April 2nd, 2018 00:18 UTC ± 2 hours. This prediction was performed by The Aerospace Corporation on 2018 April 1.”
NASA has no idea exactly where this will happen except to say somewhere between the 43° North and 43° South latitudes. In fact no one does, the orbit is so decayed they can not pinpoint an exact reentry point. A rough idea puts the entire united states in that path, as well as a good portion of the planet.
I doubt we will have any parts on a beach, but it would be worth keeping an eye on the sky in case you can see the reentry happen. This reentry will look like a large or a lot of shooting stars. There will possibly some long streaks as it burns up in the atmosphere. There is a video below of a craft reentering earth’s atmosphere and how it burns up on entry.
I hope we get clear skies and get a chance to see this burn in, it will be cool to watch. As far as snow, who cares, it is April. It will melt and go away, eventually. Maybe the kids will be stuck home Tuesday.
