Third Annual Kids Catch All Tournament

 

The third Annual Kids Catch All Tournament was last weekend and it was  big success to raise money for the Lymes Disease Association of Delmarva.   This event is held annually at the Indian River Inlet marina and was a great time. Despite the rough weather and water the first day, a lot of fish came to the scales Sunday. Triggerfish, flounder, skates, weakfish, sea bass, bluefish, black drum, sheepshead, and yellow fin tuna were all entered by seventy one kids and their families. Over seventy one hundred dollars was raised by the tournament for the Lymes Disease Association of Delmarva.  At the end of the day an anonymous donor added to the pot to round the total out to ten thousand dollars.

 

We are looking forward to this tournament again next year.  The kids had a blast, and received a lot of neat fishing gear from the tournament.  All monies for this tournament go to the Lymes Disease Association of Delmarva, not the state of Delaware or the parks.  I think people get that fact confused.   Lymes is a rough disease to say the least and I know many including my own family members that have dealt with it.  It is a very misunderstood and misdiagnosed illness.  Get educated on Lymes disease you would be surprised how little most of the medical industry really knows about Lymes.
