The kingfish have been hitting well in the surf on bloodworms, as well as fishbites bloodworm or crab formula. Some small blues were hitting cut bait on top and bottom rigs and mullet rigs. This was early morning on the outgoing tide. Into and out of slack tide, the fishing shut down at Herring point. We did hook into a huge smooth ray. Scott and I were trying to hit the second trough with a four ounce jig. On the retrieve this ray slammed the jig and soft plastic. It felt like I snagged a truck at first then it started moving. I handed the rod off to young Aiden as soon as we could and he got the thrill of fighting one of these beasts. The steel leader popped in the wash and the ray swam away. It was a thrill for Aiden he will never forget. The kid loves to fish.

Andy Hess caught an eighteen inch Flounder in the surf on fishbites with a top and bottom rig. You can’t make that stuff up. Some decent flounder were caught in the Lewes canal.
The weather the next two days will be so so but the fishing should be decent. Less people on the beach so less lines in the water and less people swimming.
Have a safe rest of the weekend. We will have a full report up later today. Lot of good offshore action too.
Fish On!!
