Spanish Mackerel Triggering The Blues
Yesterday at Key Box and few other spots the blue fish schools were also producing Spanish mackerel. Schools are moving by start tossing spoons towards them orSstingsilvers and deadly dicks. Anything shiny that you can retrieve quickly to mimic fast moving bait fish, running for their lives from being dinner.
Today some surf anglers are competing in the DSF’s Summer Surf Fishing Slam Series 8, we are looking forward to see what the surf produces up and down the beaches.
Trigger action has been good at the Indian River Inlet on sand fleas. Anglers “fleaing” for striped bass are also catching grey triggers. These fish are all over the inner and outer walls in the harbor of safe refuge and the haystacks or icebreakers. We have been hoping to see them at the Cape Henlopen fishing pier this year, but the season ain’t over yet.
Beautiful weather for all today, I will take the wind with this cool air. Look on the bright side the flies are definitely not a problem today.
Fish On!
