Live Whale Washes Ashore In Ocean City Maryland
A live Sperm whale washed ashore over night in Ocean City Maryland possibly emergency crews are on scene.
This morning a sperm whale, still alive, washed ashore in front of the High Point South Condominiums in Ocean City Maryland. They posted a couple pictures to their Facebook page. Chuck McMillan is on scene with a live video we have posted below. Witnesses reported seeing another larger whale not too far off shore.
People are freaking out about pushing the whale back into the water. You are not supposed to touch stranded marine mammals due to the possibility of bacteria and disease transfer. They are mammals just like humans, it isn’t like picking up a fish. We will keep you posted as we get more information. Baltimore Aquarium crews are en-route to evaluate the situation. They respond to standings like MERR does in Delaware. Ocean City Police are on scene.
The above video was live this morning. Sources say the people in the water were citizens trying to recuse the whale.
This sperm whale probably weighs a few thousand pounds.
