Icehouse Bait And Tackle Is Moving

If you aren’t following their Facebook page, Icehouse Bait And Tackle has to move. They are having issues with the landlord, rent being raised way too much without any notice, and the parking lot is nearly unusable. Fed up with the issues, Captain Les says it is time to move.

Icehouse Bait And Tackle has acquired a space in the old Bills Sport Shop, shopping center about midway, near the old shop. They are in the process of setting up the shop. The old shop on New road will be open until they transition. “We hope to get it all moved and rolling by mid August. Definitely before Labor Day weekend.”

The new location should prove to be better for sales, and a bigger parking lot. Also not a bad idea to put a shop where an old popular shop existed, especially on route 1.

Icehouse Bait And Tackle has gone through a few owners over the years, one being Harry Aiken, Delaware’s original surfcaster and world champion in competitive surf casting.

This will be the end of an era so to speak for the neighborhood of Lewes off New Road, but the show must go on. Look for the huge DS Custom Tackle display coming soon when they open. Good luck to the captain looking forward to seeing the new shop all set up.
