Hogs And Heroes is a non-profit organization founded in 2008, they are not a motorcycle club.  They are a group of like-minded individuals that raise money for military, police, firefighters, and EMT personnel.   They do this through fundraisers they host through out the year.  Anything from benefits to raffling off large items, last year they raffled off a sport soft tail slim.  Hogs And Heroes assists in various community activities and events.  They do memorial rides, family escorts for funerals, wounded warriors escorts, and operation seize the day.  They will stand at attention with a flag line to show respect for the family and fallen.

Recently Hogs And Heroes donated three hundred dollars to the Ocean view police department.  Chief Ken McLaughlin initiated a bicycle safety program in 2006.  “We started a nighttime bike safety checkpoint due to the fact a lot of these students are riding late at night leaving jobs.  Our officers were buying light kits with their own money to install on these bikes.  This money donated by Hogs And Heroes will help us purchase light kits for these students and we will install the kits for them at these check points.  This year we are starting a bike unit to interact with the cyclists.  We have installed over one hundred and thirty light kits and even given students helmets at these checkpoints.  We have bike safety literature we distribute that is in several foreign languages.  At the end of June we will conduct our bike safety checkpoint.”

Hogs And Heroes is a great organization and they are always looking for donations.  You can join the organization and you don’t have to ride a motorcycle to be a member.  There are chapters in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, North Carolina, Virginia, and New Jersey.  There are over twenty chapters and five of them are in Delaware alone.   The organization was founded by Andrew John Mutchler after he retired from the Secret Service.
