There are many places offering free meals on Thanksgiving.  Many people don’t have family or a place to go during the holidays it is nice to see communities reaching out and offering free meals to those in need during the holiday weekend.   It is just as important to feel needed as it is to feel wanted, especially during the holidays.  Some places are looking for volunteers to help.   Listed below are just a few that I have seen online.   If you  know of a place not listed or would like to see one listed, email the info to

Ocean View … VFW 7234 in Ocean View is having a free Thanksgiving dinner, for anyone. If you know ANYONE that has nowhere to go please tell them they are welcome there. Last year they cooked 26 turkeys. Just show up and they will feed you no questions asked.

Lewes ….  Conley’s United Methodist Church will once again provide a complete Thanksgiving Meal on Thursday, November 26th from 2 to 6 p.m. The meal is free to our community, but donations are accepted. Conley’s U.M.C. is located at 33106 Jolyn’s Way, Lewes, DE 19958 near the intersection of Rt. 24 and Camp Arrowhead Road.

Millsboro …..  St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. Community Thanksgiving Dinner Thursday November 26th At St. Mark’s Episcopal Church at the Corner of Washington and State Streets in Millsboro {Hosted By: Ark of Refuge} 11 AM until 1 PM. Limited deliveries will be available to Millsboro, Dagsboro, Frankford and LongNeck. There is no charge for this Thanksgiving. Seaford …  Church of God and Saints of Christ will once again have satellite Thanksgiving Dinners all around Sussex County serving over a thousand home cooked to different satellite locations. They will offer Din-in at their location on Concord Road (10016 Concord Road, Seaford, DE) starting at 11:30 AM Thursday November 26th. PLEASE CALL and leave a message at the Church 302-628-0893 if you are looking to volunteer or would like more information.
