Chillaware Island Spring Surf Fishing Tournament Prizes Update

We have a bunch of cool prizes donated by some of our sponsors.  Helly Hansen, Lighthouse View Bait and Tackle, Fenwick Bait and  Tackle, and Icehouse Bait and Tackle.  We have added a kid’s division since we have a bunch of upcoming anglers signed up, good luck to all of you and show up your parents!  Anglers can also fish all of Delaware Seashore State park. Anglers at 3Rs can drive as far up as the first walk on entrance at the Southside beach.  There will be a sign.

Helly Hansen has donated our biggest fish prize.  A Skagen Jacket and Pant set valued at $600 retail.  Don’t forget DSF members get a 15% discount at Helly Hansen at the outlet in Rehoboth.  Big thanks to Mike Duncan for the donations.  Helly also donated a 30L duffel bag which will go with the jacket and pant set as well as the Tech Wash to keep it clean and the water proofing solution.  A Helly Hansen dry bag will be part of the sixth to twentieth prize categories as well as  a pair of Helly Hansen gloves.

Helly Hansen makes some great gear that will keep you warm and dry while you are on the surf or the water.  The gear is also great for the occasional Dela-blizzard.

Fenwick Bait and Tackle has donated a surf rod and reel combo which will be first prize for the kid’s division.  Lighthouse View bait and Tackle has donated some rod and reel combos and crab nets.  Icehouse Bait and Tackle has donated a plethora of gear from rigs to containers of gulp and T-shirts.  We are going to use some of the gear for sixth to twentieth place, and the prizes for the kid’s division.   Fenwick Tackle and Icehouse Tackle both have 10% discounts for DSF members.

There is still time to sign up for the Chillaware Island Spring Surf Fishing Tournament.   T-shirts are still available for $15 when you sign up but are going fast.  We have a little over 200 people signed up.  Anglers can fish from Keybox beach to 3Rs in Delaware Seashore state park.  Walk ons can fish at the southside but you must be 50 yards away from the Jetty.  It might be better to try the other walk ons so we don’t have any issues with surfers.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone this year.  It is going to be a good time at the awards ceremony at the Big Chill Beach Club.  This will be held in the upper bar area where the umbrella bar is located.
