Tying Hendrickson’s Flies

I was whipping up a handful of flies for an outing on the gunpowder and thought I’d record it and pass it along. The Hendrickson’s are a big mayfly that we see in the early season on many Eastern rivers in the spring. The Big Gunpowder Falls sees good activity on warm sunny days.
I like to fish them by swinging them down and across in the current with a couple of split shot on the leader to keep them below the surface. Casting them into the eddies, allowing the current to catch your line, swings them through the seams. It’s a great experience watching the trout chase after them.
