The 2016 Flounder Pounder Open winners

This is a three day tournament, you choose the two days you are going to fish. This will be a flounder tournament only and you must fish from a registered watercraft. This includes jet skis, however not kayaks, canoes, or SUP’s. Jet skis must register as a watercraft and the angler as the captain. Jet skis are limited to two people per ski.

Registration will begin Tuesday, Aug. 1st at 10 am and will end Sunday, August 13th at 6 pm. The registration fee will be $250/boat from Aug. 1st-7th and will be $300/boat from Aug. 8th-13th.
Boat fee does not include the Captain.

The registration fee per angler is $100 from Aug. 1st-7th and $125 Aug 8th-13th. (Early registration is recommended) You may have up to 8 registered anglers on your boat with one being registered as the Captain.

Everyone on the boat must be registered, no exceptions!

$50 per boat will be donated to the Beebe Tunnell Cancer Center!

2017 Flounder Pounder Open’s big check

A registered angler from your registered watercraft or team is required to check in the morning of the day you are NOT fishing.

You may fish in both Delaware and Federal waters. Anglers can fish from Ocean City and Cape May, and follow the tournament guidelines for fishing areas, Delaware and Federal waters. You just have to weigh your fish in at Paradise Marina at the Lagoon bar.

Lines may enter the water at 7 am, and must be out of the water at approximately 5 pm. You must be back at Paradise Marina by 6 pm.

Trophies for the 2107 Flounder Pounder Open

Weigh-ins will start at 4 pm each day at the Paradise Lagoon Stage.

Winning flounder are determined by weight, in the event of a tie, length will be used.

Each captain is eligible to weigh one flounder per day. The flounder must be weighed the day it is caught. It is the captain’s responsibility to bring the heaviest flounder to the weigh-ins.

One prize per registered watercraft. Registration will be held in the Paradise Marina Building. You must register in person and it is cash only. (One team member may register the entire team).  Registration is restricted to the dates you register.    If you want to add an angler after the cut off for the reduced price registration, you must pay the regular price for registration for that date.

Each winning team will receive a team trophy. Each winning angler will receive a trophy. Each winning captain will receive a Captain’s Cup

There is a captain’s Calcutta that is optional and will be collected the day you register. It is $50 per captain for the heaviest weight of your two flounder entered, added together. There is a captain’s meeting at 7 pm on Thursday, August 17th, the night before the tournament, sponsored by Coors Light.  This will be held in the Paradise Lagoon bar area.  This is an optional meeting.

There will be live entertainment all weekend and fireworks after the awards ceremony. There will also be the Bud Light Anglers After Party in the lagoon bar on Sunday, following the fireworks show.  All winning captains please bring your captains cups.

Sunday … Sam Grow at 7 pm
Fireworks are on Sunday at 9 pm

Option B: A brand new 151 Center Console Sportfish Scout Boat!!! It’s equipped with a Yamaha 40 hp motor & trailer plus it’s loaded with options! It has a retail price of $19,995!!!

4th Place: Option A: $10,000!!!!!
Option B: A brand new GTI SE 130 Sea-doo Jet-ski which has a retail price of $11,249!!!

5th Place: Option A: $5,000!!!!!
Option B: A brand new Sea-doo Spark Jet-ski that has 60hp and a retail price of $6,149!!!

The awards ceremony is when you will choose your prize, and will be held around 7:30 pm Sunday evening. Live entertainment and a fireworks show will take place following the ceremony. Winning checks and/or boats will be distributed Thursday, August 24th. Winners may be subject to a lie detector test. We look forward to a great tournament and a great weekend with lots of fun, music, and great prizes!
