Update on Delaware State Parks reopening and closures

DOVER (Nov.2, 2012) – As cleanup from Hurricane Sandy continues, here is an update from DNREC’s Division of Parks and Recreation about Delaware State Parks’ status in the aftermath of the storm:

DELAWARE SEASHORE STATE PARK: Most of the park remains closed due to storm damage and lack of access, as Route 1 is closed from just south of Dewey Beach to south of the Indian River Inlet Bridge.

The South Inlet Day Use area is open to the public; the bathhouse is closed for the season, but portable toilets are available. All other day use areas are closed until further notice. The Delaware Seashore State Park campground and The Cottages at Indian River Marina are closed for the weekend; the reservation center will contact all those with reservations for this weekend, or those holding reservations may contact the call center at 877-987-2757.
