Update for DSSP and FI State Parks

I just spoke with Doug Long, Superintendent at Delaware Seashore State Park about ten minutes ago. The soil and conservation crews are working diligently on the crossings for Faithful Steward, Conquest, and Key Box drive on a beaches. They are hoping to have them ready by today at the earliest, tomorrow at the latest. 3Rs is open and Fenwick Island is being evaluated still and will be the last to open. The problem in some spots is not the access itself but the amount of beach left to drive on. The northern beaches are being worked on now as a priority in hopes to get them open for this weekend’s DMS tournament. The parks and DNREC are working as fast as they can so be patient. Also the parking lots are all closed at the drive on accesses until they get the walk on areas fixed. Many of them are steep drop offs not safe for crossing by foot. If you want to get on the beach use Tower road at the bathhouse, north side at the inlet or south side at the Inlet. We will have more information as soon as there are updates. In the mean time have patience, or just Netflix and chill.
Fish On!!
