The Indian River Inlet Naked
Scans of the Indian River Inlet and surrounding waters
(August 25, 2021) … A friend of mine sent me some very cool high resolution scans of the Indian River inlet and surrounding area. These are not the very high resolution, those are amazing I can see a rock on the bottom of the ocean.
I have a lot more of these scans coming from all over the east coast, many miles offshore too. Want to see the old grounds? B buoy? The DelJerseyLand reefs? Pick a shipwreck or reef site. The Faithful Steward is closer to the beach than people realize.
The sand plume outside of the inlet is huge. Gives you an idea why 3R’s is such a productive surf fishing beach. Especially the northern end of the beach.
Want to see how the Tamaroa that was sunk is laying? How MV Twin Capes ferry that was sunk at DelJerseyLand reef is oriented. The inner and outer walls? The Haystacks?
We might scan the Indian River inlet soon with some seriously high tech side scanning gear. The sides of the walls not just the bottom. This is not like your usual boat side scanners this is NASA like tech stuff, underwater.
Pick a place inshore or offshore from Virginia Beach to Cape May and we probably have the high resolution scan. These are all roughly three years old, and are still accurate.
It is always cool to see the bottom of the ocean and her features. We have some amazing images of shipwrecks. I don’t think people even know exist. You might not know what you are fishing over out there. Knowing how to orient your boat for a drift will be better with some these scans.
