Geese and goslings feeding in the median in Bethany Beach

It isn’t new if you live here, everyday these geese cross route 1 with their goslings to forage grass in the median strip.  Everyday traffic has to stop, more than once, to allow them to cross the road.  Today one person decided he didn’t want to wait and ran a goose over.  Needless to say a few locals are irate about that, the out of state tags did not help this young man’s case.   Pretty sad when you can’t wait a few seconds for these birds to cross the road.   Locals are okay with the birds and some say they are a nuisance.  Regardless humans built where they live and we all have to share.  So if you are near Bethany Beach this weekend, just above Sea Colony on route 1 keep an eye out for the geese.  They have enough of an issue trying to live around people, now they have to worry about being run over trying to raise their young.
