Surf Fishing Conditions For Saturday The 14th

Surf Fishing Conditions for the Delaware Beaches and Delaware State Park Beaches

Wind has laid down a bit but the water is up over the beaches. High tide is over two hours away, watch yourselves if you drove onto the beaches to surf fish. It is a bit nautical out there. Small craft advisory into this evening. South East winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 4 to 6 ft. Swell mainly from the E with a dominant period of 8 seconds. Water will hit the dunes in Bethany and Delaware Seashore State Park at northside beach towards Faithful Steward.

Surf fishing is certainly doable and I would look for short striped bass in the wash feeding on sand fleas. All the smaller fish will be in close feeding as well. Sand fleas will be easy to dig up today. If you go out at low tide to surf fish, mind where you park and look at the high tide wrack line from this morning. Water will push in again tonight at high tide well after dark. The wash area os the surf is very wide in some spots.

Rain chances have pushed off until tonight so you are good for the day. Great temperatures. Fall like weather for with warm water and summer fish. Good luck to everyone fishing the DSF’s Summer Surf Fishing Slam Series 9 today!
