Jeff Purdy was drifting the Lewes Canal today and caught these nice keeper flounder at 18 -20 inches on shiners and minnows. The outgoing tide has the best action due to water warmer leaving the inland bays. Crabbing is heating up as well, more are showing up in the warmer shallows of the inland bays and tidal creeks. Shorty striped bass were caught on Faithful Steward beach (savages ditch) a little while ago on bloodworms. Fishing is getting better with the late morning early afternoon’s outgoing tide. Fisherman’s Wharf out of Lewes brought in some nice tautog today. Trout action up north in New Castle area has been good and was fun today. I just drove down from New Castle via route 1 and traffic is getting a little messy. Time to load up the gear and do a little fishing. Lot of fun stuff to do this weekend. Be safe out there and most of all have fun.
Fish On!!
