Last week during the beach clean up everyone was asking what is that weird looking ship out there, it almost looked like a huge sailboat. A tall ship sailboat, not a weekender blow boat. I didn’t think much of it until the other day when a few people sent pictures and asked again. Now it is anchored off the coast of Cape henlopen at the anchorage.
This is the Zhen Hua 25 heavy-lift vessel, according to the ship tracker app. She is carrying three loading and unloading cranes, or gantry cranes. Two are for the Packer Avenue Marine Terminal and one is for the Wilmington Terminal.
The ship finder app is a great way to look up ships off our coast it has all kinds of details. You can get live information about what type of ship, when it left, where it is headed, and the cargo.

The Delaware bay Launch Service crews got an up close and personal look at the “Zhen Hua 25”. They put the picture below on their facebook page, cool page to follow, you never know what these guys will see up close and personal.
Those are some seriously tall cranes. I imagine like last year, these will shut down the Delaware Memorial Bridge late one night when that coincides with low tide. They have to get this above the bridge to the port. That should be wild to watch.
