On Thursday, Nov. 5, at 6 p.m., at the Independence Community Clubhouse,  outside of Millsboro, Matt Heim, outreach coordinator for the Assateaque Coastal Trust will discuss “Not Off My Coast” – a grassroots effort to reverse the Department of the Interior’s draft proposal that would permit seismic testing and drilling for oil off the Delmarva peninsula.

Attendees will learn the impact seismic testing has on marine life as well as the catastrophic effects an oil spill could have to the environment, marine life, bird migration and local economy. There will also be a strategy session on how to pass Not on My Coast resolutions in Sussex County’s 25 cities and towns.

ACT worked successfully for the resolution passed unanimously by the Ocean City Council Sept. 21, opposing offshore drilling and testing.
