Nautical Is A Good Word For Today At The Beach

Beaches will flood a bit today at high tide around noon.

Water is already up and over the drop offs at the bebaches. If you are headed out today mind the lower beaches. Meaning some beaches are higher than others. The low spots at the surf fishing drive on beaches are the point, naval crossing, that section at conquest just above the drive on access, Gordons pond where the breach is by the towers, and the northern part of 3Rs. These beaches can and will flood over at high tide to the dune lines.

Bethany beach and Sections of Rehoboth beach will also flood over to the dune line. Bethany will be the worst. Small craft advisory, no surprise there. Temperatures are going to plummet during the day, be prepared for that if you head to the beach. It is hoodie season.

The point is fun in these conditions, but only if you are already out before high tide. The more elevated area will surround with water. You can’t leave, and parks will probably cut off access until the water recedes. We have been out there when that happens you are on your own little island of sand surrounded by surf wash. Do not drive through the water sand or water you will get stuck. Not to mention that saltwater is horrible for your vehicle.

Tomorrow we are looking at the same conditions, and it is supposed to lay down by Saturday morning. Despite this War On The Shore is still happening on Saturday for anyone wondering. It is also going to be a lot colder possibly as low as forty degrees in the morning, that depends on who you listen to for your weather forecasts. We like to follow Foote’s forecast.

Fish On!
