The Nao Santa Maria replica was built in 2017 by the Nao Victoria Foundation. She is an exact replica of the largest of the three ships that Christopher Columbus sailed in 1492. She sailed the same route as the original Santa Maria from Spain to the Caribbean in 2018. Now she is traveling along our coasts on a education tour.

I’m hoping she hugs the Delaware coast a little today, so we can get pictures from the beach. she will enter Ocean City vis the Ocean City inlet.
Maybe we will get lucky and she makes a stop in Lewes. Last ship we had here was in August 2018, when the Vikings invaded Lewes, in the Draken Harald Hårfagre.
