Junes full moon is known as the Strawberry Moon by the Algonquin tribes because is corresponded with the harvesting of many fruits including strawberries. In the month of June strawberries have a small harvesting season. It is also known as the Rose moon in Europe.
The moon will be full on June 20th at 7:02 AM
The exciting news about this strawberry full moon, this year it falls on the summer solstice (first day of summer) and that has not happened since 1967. It won’t be different than any other full moon. If you want to see the full moon occur on the same day as the summer solstice you will have to wait until 2062 .
