If you haven’t seen all the crazy online shenanigans, then don’t and get outside. Everyone is emotional and rightfully so. The biggest issue is social distancing, or social Fishstancing. Just stay away from each other. Six feet is recommended. Don’t put ten of your kids on a trampoline and let them all mingle. No more play dates. Walk around each other on trails. It isn’t that hard to keep your distance when it is necessary. Anglers have been doing this forever, we don’t want people near us when we are fishing, especially catching.

I get the fact people are scared and want to leave areas with heavy numbers, we would all want to do that. Completely natural reaction, go where you think it is safer.
We are being inundated to a degree with visitors and it is an issue in Sussex County. We don’t have the medical facilities to handle the amount of people that are here full time if something happens, much less adding more and more people. If you don’t need to come down here, please don’t. This is not the time for a vacation. We love our visitors, truly, but now is not the time.
Lowes and Home Depots are packed with people buying mulch and house paint. What kind of recipes are you using? Besides one for disaster. We all want beaches open again and other areas, but some people can’t seem to get the whole social distancing thing down. Everyone I see walking beaches for exercise get it, same on the trails.

If everyone would just relax, take some time, calm the hell down. and social distance we will get through this much faster. You can still fish and enjoy the outdoors, just do it by yourself, or people you are isolating with.
I have a quarantine “buddy”, as she calls it, we have been doing this for over three weeks. It is not that hard, you don’t need to go shopping for fun. We know who and where we have been around for the past month. Walking into a grocery store really creeps us out. If you go at night they are all but empty of people. We stocked up weeks ago for months, not hoarding, stocked up for staying home. Everyone should do that so they can avoid the stores as much as possible and social distance.
