Full Flower Moon
May’s full moon is in full bloom and known as the flower moon. This time of year flowers are abundant everywhere. Other names are the Corn Planting Moon by some Algonquin tribes. it is the right time of year to plant corn, except here because it is just too wet.
The Milk Moon is another name. This time of year the grasses, herbs, weeds, and plants are sprouting in variety and abundance. The goats, cows, and sheep feed and in turn produce a lot of rich milk full of vitamins.
I have to get better at these moon shots. Fishing is good during and after a full moon. If you want big bass look in the shadows for them ambushing bait (or your lure). Some fish feed heavier on a full moon others stay in the shadows and keep a low profile. Kind of like people do during a full moon, only fish are much easier to deal with. Just any Emergency room nurse about a full moon shift, I’d rather be fishing.
