There were roughly 88 people fishing today for the first Summer Surf Fishing Slam Series. Not a great day of fishing all around for many people, even the boats were having a tough time. There were a few spots on the beaches that were producing, but as it has been the last few weeks the actin gets hot, not in the same spot and only lasts a couple of hours.
We had several fish scored. Anglers sent in their catches. As of 10:00 PM these are the final results, unless someone hasn’t finished sending in pictures, we have heard from just about everyone.

Bill Orth’s snapper he landed to move him into third place.
Anglers … points … species … number points individual
Michele Trotter … 70 points … 3 bluefish … 22, 23, 25
Jesse Williams … 39 points … 2 bluefish 22, 17
Bill Orth …. 33 points … 2 bluefish … 17, 16
Gary Stefan … 17 points … one flounder 17
Ralph McBride …. 16 points … one bluefish 16
Jonathan Martin … 16 points … one bluefish 16
Great time today following all of you and keeping up with your scores and questions. several people changed locations and had better luck and others did not. Still a great time at the beach and some added fun while you are out there in the Summer Slam.
Winners can drop by Iron Hill Brewery tomorrow at 1:30 PM on the front porch, and we will present you your prizes around 2 “ish”. Stop by if you are entered in the tourney, we always have some thing or other to give away.
The next DSF’s Summer Surf Fishing Slam Series is on June 1st. You can sign up anytime. T shirt and Hoodie sales end in about a week. Shirts will be ready in 2 weeks to pick up at the June 2nd Awards, which will be at Crooked Hammock at 2 PM.
