First Thresher Of 2016 In Delaware
Linda Nasko was near the marina today at the Indian River Inlet when she saw this thresher hanging by the scales. The shark weighed in at 291 pounds. The Kelly family caught the thresher on a trip off the Delaware coast. They are staying at the marina on their boat, and are headed home tomorrow. What a way to end a stay at the Indian River Inlet Marina, dinner should be very good. Linda said one of the girls mentioned they were about eleven miles out at a place called the “Old Grounds”.
Nice to know the threshers are close, there have been some decent flounder picked up at the old grounds. That is just starting to pick up.
Sea bass is hot as usual, the Katydid filled the box today with a couple flounder to boot. The Dana Lynn slammed some seabass the other day. The first White Marlin was recorded in Ocean City yesterday. Yellow fin tuna are on fire according to many offshore crews. It has been active on the water for many anglers. The surf has been the norm with random action all over. Burrfish, blues, puffers, and short striped bass. Not to mention the whale sighting at Herring point. Some shark action, leave them in the water.
