The snow is not the only storm issue.
While everyone has snow fever, inland bay communities need to look to the water.
There is a coastal flood warning into the early afternoon. It is an hour past high tide (8:30 AM). This morning the beaches flooded to the dunes. Delaware State Park drive on beach accesses have been closed. Big waves and a wide surf wash. Striped bass weather, maybe some will be pushed closer in chasing bait.
The water is pushing into the inland bays at the Indian River Inlet and Roosevelt Inlet, this will flood the low lying communities. Just like it does all the time.
All of the usual areas will flood, how much and for how long remains to be seen. The tide is over normal for a couple of cycles.
Expect the usual flooding, a couple hours after high tide at the inlet for us back bay folks. Next high tide is 9 PM but the water is predicted to be a little lower. Only issue is how much stays behind stacke dup in the bays by wind.
Last time tide was this high during a storm, Long Neck road flooded over, near the old Malones at the slough along Mariners Cove for Whites Creek.
Check the Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service for the latest tides.
