Churchmans Road boat ramp on Christina River reopened by DNREC after temporary closure for access evaluation

NEWARK (May 22, 2015) – The Churchmans Road boat ramp located on the Christina River – closed over the last year while it was evaluated for public access – has reopened in time for the Memorial Day weekend and for continuous recreational use, DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife announced today..

Division of Fish & Wildlife Director David Saveikis said that DNREC has entered into a lease agreement in partnership with the property owner, Artesian Water Company, to operate the ramp for public access. “We are pleased that the Churchmans Road boat ramp once again will be providing anglers and other recreationalists with access to the upper reaches of the Christina River,” Saveikis said.
