The incoming tide bite for bluefish at the point has been fun. They are the smaller cocktail blues from the tiny 9 inch ones, to upwards of two pounds. We have been using two ounce spoons, deadly dicks, or silver stingers and catching them on every cast. Even without the birds around you can still catch the blues.

They are feeding on the baitfish like crazy. There are bay anchovies and peanut bunker in there thick. Also smaller bluefish, the bigger bluefish are feeding on the little ones. One great bait for bluefish is bluefish. They are not selective when they feed. The blues are chasing the bait fish onto the beach. They are also spitting up bait fish when we catch them they are gorging themselves.
Pompano action has really picked up on all of the beaches. They are hitting fishbites, Bona Fide baits, and small sand fleas. Small black drum or puppy drum are also hitting the same baits. Our buddy Barney was hitting pompano today two at a time.
Fish On!
