Traffic advisory for Delaware Seashore State Park Saturday, Sept. 26 during MS Society’s Bike to the Bay fundraiser

LEWES (Sept. 23, 2015) – Delaware Seashore State Park will host the annual MS Society’s “Bike to the Bay” fundraiser Saturday, Sept. 26, requiring a rerouting of traffic entering and leaving the park from late morning through mid-afternoon, DNREC’s Division of Parks & Recreation announced today.
The Bike to the Bay fundraiser will take place at the park’s South Inlet Day-Use Area. The exit lane from south-bound Route 1 will be closed to all traffic beginning at 10:30 a.m. until approximately 3 p.m. South-bound vehicles intending to enter the South Inlet park facilities or the South Shore Marina community will be directed to make a U-turn at 3Rs Road and use the north-bound exit.
Anyone wishing to leave the Inlet campground or South Shore Marina Community will be directed onto south-bound Rt. 1, while day-use area visitors will be directed onto north-bound Rt. 1. Limited parking will be available at the South Inlet Day-Use Area parking area for anglers on a first-come, first-served basis.
