On Sunday March 9th we will meet at the Fenwick Island State Park Bathhouse on route 1 at 9 a.m. for another beach cleaning. There will be bags available and we just ask that you bring gloves. Anyone with a legal beach tag is welcome to drive on and help us, or just walk on, and we can give you a ride as well. We are going to try and do the entire drive on beach that day. Last clean up we did the point in Cape Henlopen and collected over 500 pounds of trash and debris. Kids are welcome and encouraged to show up to volunteer, there will be a park representative there to log hours for anyone who needs credit for school community hours or merit badges. Trash will be bagged and loaded into a park truck and any vehicles we have available, then taken to the trash facility in Delaware Seashore State Park. I hope many of you can come out and help us this Sunday. The next clean up is scheduled for Saturday, March 22nd the same day as the beach grass planting in Delaware Seashore State Park and we will collect trash after the planting is concluded. Biweekly clean ups are going to help keep the beaches clean this year and we plan on having them until the summer season begins for Memorial Day weekend. Then we will try to do them during the week, since weekends will be crowded. I will have a schedule for that soon. Thank You.
Fish On!!
