Augustine Beach Boat Ramp reopens, with dredging completed

DOVER (Sept. 16, 2014) – With maintenance dredging of the boat ramp access channel at Augustine Beach near Port Penn completed, the boat ramp and adjacent intertidal beach located on the south side of the existing groin have reopened for public use, DNREC’s Division of Fish and Wildlife announced today.

The ramp had been subject to periodic closures since Aug. 4. Maintenance dredging of the boat ramp access channel is periodically needed due to the high sediment deposition in the area.
