Maryland closed all their state parks today. The National Park Service followed shortly after by closing Assateague Island National Seashore. Things are changing daily around our area. It is a shame, but for everyone’s safety it is necessary. Same situation in Delaware, everyone is upset, because surf fishermen can social distance like no other. However you have to account for staff that needs to interact with the public.
“Effective March 28, 2020, Assateague Island National Seashore will be closed to all park visitors until further notice. We will notify the public when we resume full operations and provide updates on our website www.nps.gov/asis]www.nps.gov/asis and Facebook, Twitter and Instagram @AssateagueNPS. Updates about NPS operations will be posted on www.nps.gov/coronavirus.”
