Antares Is On The Pad Ready To Launch Tuesday
Northrup-Grumman’s Antares Rocket has been moved to the pad, we are excited.
I love rocket launches. Being this close to NASA’s wallops Flight Facility is a bonus. You will be able to see this rocket streak towards space on Tuesday night starting at 10:27 PM. The Cygnus capsule, named for astronaut Kalpana Chawala. will be loaded with Gear, hardware, food, and more crew supplies. I’m still wondering how the mice made out a few launches ago. I see a great movie title for ISS mice in Space.
There is a small window for the launch capability. We hope the weather holds and NASA gets to light this candle! Public viewing areas are limited these days, but we have a plan. The launch visibility projection map below gives you the angle of flight and how long after blast off it takes to see Antares.
I’m hoping for clear skies. Due to covid restrictions we didn’t get media access. So we have a plan for some unique shots that we will share after. I had some great shots sent o me by our nerd on the ground, Rouger. Thanks for the killer shots, I have always wanted to watch the Antares roll out in person.
