High tide is an hour away (8:22 AM) for the beaches and a couple hours away for the inland bay communities. Water is stacked up in the inland bays. The wind is out of the north, but tonight after midnight it will shift to west winds. That will help push water out of the inland bays on the outgoing tide. Everyone is hoping this is the last of the high tide cycles we have to worry about, but the next one this evening will be an issue as well. Winds will still be strong as will the storm surge waves or swells.

Expect the same tidal flooding as last night and yesterday. Route 1 has water close to he edges already from flooded bays. This will be just as bad as yesterday most likely. Tomorrow should be a little better.
The surfers will be out in force today. Surf fishermen not so much, until the water recedes. Don’t bother driving onto the beaches they are covered with water. You can try a few hours after low tide. Avoid wet spots, it might look okay but water will drain under the sand. You can’t see it, but if you walk across the wet areas some are like quicksand. Not like the quicksand we all thought would kill us as kids, but your vehicle will sink to the frame real fast.

Expect roads to flood just like yesterday. It is beautiful out but that doesn’t stop storm surge. Don’t drive through the water if you don’t have to go anywhere. That saltwater will ruin your vehicle. If you do have to drive through the water hit a car wash with an undercarriage service.
