Today was the 25th annual Polar Plunge and it was a great success.  Every year the plunge is on what is known as Big Sunday because the Super Bowl is on the same day.  I wanted to get a team together this  year, but it has been a busy few months.  I saw a lot of people I know that participated today.  Everyone was excited and the costumes this year were as cleaver as always.  I think the plunger hats were my favorite, because if you are going to plunge you need a plunger on your head.   The air was chilly, but not too bad despite the wind, the sun even came out just before the plunge at 1 PM.   Jon Buzby sent out a press release right after the event.  “The 25th annual Special Olympics Delaware Polar Bear Plunge presented by Wawa saw 3,501 Bears raise a record $820,000.  The air temperature was 45 degrees and the water temperature 43.  In the event’s 25-year history, more than $9.12 million has been raised. ”  I have a video below of people plunging and the Coast Guard.   See you next year.
