Gale Warning For Friday to Saturday
The NWS has issued a gale warning for Friday night into Saturday night, and Sunday isn’t going to be much better with twenty plus mile per hour winds. If you are surf fishing watch high tide, some of the beaches have wash outs that cut into the swales and will fill in fast. The offshore winds may keep the waves at bay some. If you are fishing the ASMA tournament this weekend watch the water and good luck to all the surf anglers. Assateague Island just fully reopened from tidal over wash during the full moon. Casting should be easy in the heavy west winds this weekend, so there is that for a bonus.
GALE WATCH NOW IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY EVENING THROUGH LATE SATURDAY NIGHT
ATLANTIC COASTAL WATERS OF NEW JERSEY AND DELAWARE.
NORTHWEST 20 TO 30 KT WITH GUSTS UP TO 45 KT.
5 TO 7 FEET.
GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS WILL DEVELOP SHORTLY AFTER A COLD
FRONT PASSES ACROSS THE WATERS FRIDAY NIGHT.
GALE FORCE WIND GUSTS WILL LIKELY PERSIST THROUGH
AND POSSIBLY INTO SUNDAY.
A GALE WATCH IS ISSUED WHEN THE RISK OF GALE FORCE WINDS OF 34 TO
47 KNOTS HAS SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASED
BUT THE SPECIFIC TIMING
AND/OR LOCATION IS STILL UNCERTAIN. IT IS INTENDED TO PROVIDE
ADDITIONAL LEAD TIME FOR MARINERS WHO MAY WISH TO CONSIDER
ALTERING THEIR PLANS.
