The Best Fishing Couple Moved Back To Dewey Beach

Yesterday on my way for my last visit to the drive on beaches until May 15th. I spotted my favorite fishing couple. They were hanging out doing a little upkeep on their summer home, the osprey nesting platform. Good to see the osprey pair back in Dewey Beach right next to route 1. This nest is often visited by other birds, the bald eagles used it to sit out of the wind over the winter.

Osprey are my favorite fish finders for the surf. They scan the waters along the beach, hunting for fish. If they are up high the fish are deeper if they are low the fish are sitting shallow. We were fishing one day getting skunked. An osprey showed up and nailed a croaker right in the back of a curling wave. We followed suit, fished much closer and started bailing fish. Always pay attention of the birds.
