The Amazing Marine Artist At The Atlantic City Boat Show
If you go to the Atlantic City Boat Show check out this amazing artist.
Yesterday I boarded the Cape May Lewes Ferry to head to the Atlantic City Boat Show. Great show, they have a lot of room over there to really do a boat show right, impressive. I spend half if not all of my time at shows and expos these days checking out how things are done or set up. When you run shows you look at other shows differently. There was a great variety of vendors. I saw and met a lot of cool vendors, but one stuck out the most for me.

Steve Diossy is a Marine Artist out of Florida. I have seen some of his work here and there at friend’s shops and houses. It is impressive on its own, but when you see his display booth at a show it is sensory overload. This man has some serious skills. I got lucky Steve was working his booth for the first time this week on Friday. He is one down to earth human for sure.
DSF … Steve these are amazing how long does it take to paint one of these pieces?
Steve Diossy … “That one took a year.” (He says that like is is just a natural part of any process, like breathing.)
DSF … Do you paint the whole piece start to finish?
Steve Diossy … “No, I spend time off and on and go back and forth between pieces. I would describe it like driving in the fog. I kind of know where I am going, but not sure when or how I will get there.”
I only met Steve briefly he was busy signing works for customers and talking to the public and fans. That brief meeting I will remember for a lifetime, he is one of those type of people you just enjoy meeting and talking with. Laid back, humble, and happy in life … my favorite kind of human.

It was a pleasure meeting Steve, I was so impressed and overwhelmed I wanted to buy the entire booth for my man cave wall. Every piece has a story or tells you a story. There is a lot going on in every piece, even the ones with just a single subject. You can “see” what the characters are thinking, or at least I can. I could see a few friends in these characters, or I could say a few characters in my friends.

If you get a chance to go to the Atlantic City Boat show this weekend you definitely need to spend some time at the Steve Diossy Marine Artist booth. Tell them DSF sent ya.
Steve Diossy’s artwork is available online on his website. They have apparel, stickers, prints, phone cases, license plates, coffee cups, cornhole boards, and of course full size canvas.
I bought the crab crushing a beer can sticker for the beach truck. You can also check out his works on the Steve Diossy Marine Artist Facebook page. I need to see if he can do something for a surf fishing subject. Can’t imagine how much cooler he could make a skate, or dogfish catch appear.
