Be wary there is a thief in Delaware Seashore State Park on 3Rs.
If you haven’t been to 3Rs in a while, there is a bait thief running about. He is small, sneaky and adorable, even for an invasive species. This red fox creeped up on us this evening. I have seen him before on occasion in the winter, but he has gotten bolder. He has a limp now, we named him tripod.

Gorgeous red fox, but an invasive species none the less. He is used to people obviously, probably from being fed leftover bait. He zeroed in on my bait cooler on the front rack on the truck, it was loaded with old frozen bunker. I cleaned the bait fridge and freezer today, for more food storage. These times call for more food storage, and less bait.
If you see this handsome fellah, and he is a fellah. I have a picture that proves that, but the children don’t need an education. Please don’t feed him, foxes, though scavengers need to fend for themselves. I am sure he has done well on the excess bait left behind, not to mention he jacked me for a bunker before I noticed. He is walking with a limp, one of his hind legs is lame. So we named him tripod.
