Surf Tags Not Expected To Last Beyond The 4th
If you haven’t gotten your surf tag yet, you might want to get on that ASAP. There are less than 900 tags left I am told by a friend at parks. That is officially unofficially the number.
When they get very low there will be a press release. “It isn’t expected to see them make it past the fourth of July”. Last year parks sold a little over 17,000 tags by October. With the limited tags the sales really increased. They are selling two to three hundred a weekend and about eighty or so during the week. Get one while you still can.
There are only four locations to get your tags now.Surf-fishing permit sales locations include:
· Bellevue State Park office, 800 Carr Road, Wilmington, DE 19809
· The Indian River Life-Saving Station store at Delaware Seashore State Park, 25039 Coastal Highway, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971
· Cape Henlopen State Park office,15099 Cape Henlopen Drive, Lewes, DE 19958
· DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife sales desk at the Richardson & Robbins Building, 89 Kings Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
The interesting thing after this year is to see how the black tag sales will work. If you are interested in those as soon as the next auction happens I would get on that train too. Eventually it will become an issue how to have 9,999 black tags in circulation that are auctioned off a couple times a year with a limited tag number at 17,000. That bridge is a long way off.
