Last year Maryland started the Striped Bass Summer Fishing Advisory Forecast to alert anglers of high water temperatures in the Chesapeake Bay. With higher water temperatures, oxygen levels are low and can stress out and kill released striped bass.
Maryland DNR will also be closing striped bass season from August 16th to the 31st, including catch and release. No targeting of striped bass is allowed

Check the MD DNR website for the daily conditions or advisory. Read all of the information about this advisory at Striped Bass Advisory Maryland DNR.
