(April 9, 2020) … I can’t look at these birds without thinking they look like Pterodactyls. Pelicans are one of my favorite birds to watch feed. They fly in lines that are both awkward and graceful. Looking for food, while the ones behind the lead bird seem to always mimic the lead birds actions.

We saw two brown pelicans yesterday fly towards the beach across the Indian river inlet. There was a decent line or flock of them near the Cape Henlopen Fishing pier last night. They are early for the time of year, another sign of a mild winter or an early spring into summer.
