DOVER (April 20, 2015) – Due to extensive winter ice damage to the existing wooden floating courtesy docks at the Rosedale beach boat ramp near Millsboro, the ramp’s docking capacity has been unavoidably reduced, DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife announced today.

One set of the damaged floating docks has been removed due to safety concerns. The second set will remain in place until new aluminum floating docks are installed to replace the two wooden floating docks. Fabrication of the new docks is underway, and installation is anticipated in mid-June. Division of Fish & Wildlife crews are currently repairing wooden approaches and cracks in the concrete boat ramp.

The boat ramp is expected to remain open during repairs. However, the public may experience minor delays when launching and retrieving their vessels. Access to Indian River Bay also is available via Masseys Landing boat ramp, located on Long Neck Road in Long Neck, as well as Indian River Marina and Holts Landing.
