Protecting our Indian River group seeks the public’s help

Hello,

Sunrise Indian River Bridge over Indian River Bay in Oak Orchard, DE
Sunrise Indian River Bridge over Indian River Bay in Oak Orchard, DE

My name is Jay Meyer and our group is looking to stop pollution in the Indian River in Millsboro, Delaware.

W are looking for support from our email friends and others .  Our group Protecting our Indian River needs to raise $7500 for lawyer fees to appeal a decision to the Supreme Court of the State of Delaware.

Industrial pollution affects us all especially if it affects our rivers and streams and if you live in New Castle County, Kent or Sussex.

Our cause is aimed at stopping a South Korean poultry slaughter-house from discharging waste water from cleaning chickens into the Indian River which flows into the Rehoboth Bay, Assawomen Canal/Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.

12 million gallons of waste water into an already impaired water way is not how you clean up Delaware’s water ways.

Did you know:

*  88% of Delaware’s rivers  do not support swimming use
*  97% of Delaware’s waters do not support fish and wildlife use
*  On some species of fish it is recommended to eat not more than 1 meal per year
(Facts from Delaware’s Storm Quality Program 2014)

So if you enjoy the waters of Delaware where ever you live we need your help to stop this travesty of polluting our waterways that we so enjoy for swimming, boating, fishing, crabbing and all recreational use that are about to be destroyed by industrial pollution.  Our rivers should not be dumping grounds for big industry!

PLEASE HELP BY GOING TO THE WEBSITE “GoFundme” AND GIVE WHAT YOU CAN, IF JUST 215 PEOPLE
DONATE $35 WE CAN MEET OUR GOAL.  CAN YOU HELP??  WILL YOU SHARE THIS WITH YOUR FB FRIENDS AND EMAIL FRIENDS?   http://www.gofundme.com/g88rf8z5d8r

Thank you,
Jay Meyer
