Offshore Action Is Hot For Mako Mania

The Mako Mania in Ocean City at Bahia Marina started today and fifty eight boats are competing this year. Fifty boats went out today and so far Rhonda’s Osprey brought in a 142 pound mako, but was bested by a 176 pound mako landed by the Outnumbered. The “Teaser” weighed in a 318 pound thresher shark. For the first day that is a decent amount of action at the scales. Offshore action has been on fire for Yellow fin with hammerheads, and makos everywhere. The Katydid is not competing but Captain Brent and some customers hit the tilefish bite the other day. “Limited out on tile fish, and we caught seabass, hake, bluefish, rose fish, deep water anthias. We had a mako for fifteen minutes until the tile fish hooks straightened out when it aired out forty yards from the boat. We have been having some great trips this year.” They have been steady filling the box with sea bass. Lot of great fishing out there find, charter, or steal a boat and get to it.
Fish On!!
