The first year I attended the Lewes Polar Bear Plunge benefiting Special Olympics of Delaware I was amazed at the crowd’s enthusiasm for this event. Teams had all sorts of costumes and even mascots. It was truly an emotional day for many people including myself. After that event I decided Delaware Surf Fishing needed to have a team involved. The past two years I have helped promote Devin Stark for the Lewes Polar Bear Plunge and he is our team captain. This year his sister Lexie is taking the helm. “This years team will be captained by Devins big sister Lexie. Lexie has always been the worlds best cheerleader for her brother John. John has autism and finds the special Olympics too overwhelming, but over the years we have all seen the benefits of the special Olympics for johns class mates and his cousin Charlie. Charlie has Downes Syndrome and has participated in both the plunge and special Olympics for years. This year, at Thanksgiving dinner Lexie promised Charlie that she would plunge with him this year!!! ” … Madell Stark …
If anyone would like to donate to our efforts this year for the Lewes Polar Bear Plunge please follow the link to the page. I will be collecting donations when out and about and during Monday Meetings at Delaware Distilling Company (DDC). Anyone is welcome to come plunge with team DSF, the more the merrier. Plungers do need to register and donate in order to plunge, please use the Delaware Surf Fishing Polar Bear Plunge team donation page. We will be on the left side of the beach closest to Cape Henlopen and the DSF flag will be there so you can easily find the team. It has been a blast doing events like this to help our community and I look forward to seeing everyone there. Every year is more fun than the last. After the Polar Plunge we will head to DDC for lunch and to thaw. Thank You
Fish On!!
